Preventing fraud and abuse; securing the Site; measuring and improving how the Site performs Our legitimate interests

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.

For visitors in the United States, non-essential cookies and advertising measurement operate on an opt-out basis. Section 9 explains how to opt out.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the parties needed to run the store:

Some analytics and advertising cookies may qualify as "sharing" or as a "sale" under certain state privacy laws even where no money changes hands. Section 9 explains how to opt out.

6. Marketing email

You receive marketing email only if you subscribed.

Every marketing email contains a working unsubscribe link and our postal address. Unsubscribing takes effect within 10 business days at the latest, and usually immediately. You can also email contact@harrisonbrass.com to be removed.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional emails about an order you have placed.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and session working, to remember your preferences, to measure site usage, and to measure advertising performance.

Strictly necessary cookies are required for the Site to function. You can refuse or delete analytics and advertising cookies at any time through your browser settings, by enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, or by emailing us as described in section 9.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent checkout from working.

8. How long we keep it

  • Order and transaction records: for as long as required by applicable accounting and tax law, and no longer than 10 years from the end of the year of the transaction.
  • Account data: while your account is open, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Marketing data: until you unsubscribe, then retained only as a suppression record so we do not contact you again.
  • Analytics data: normally no more than 26 months.

9. Your privacy rights in the United States

Depending on where you live in the United States, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it
  • access a copy of it
  • correct inaccurate information
  • delete it, subject to legal retention obligations
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

How to exercise them: email contact@harrisonbrass.com with the subject line "Privacy Request", and state which right you want to exercise. Include the email address used on your order so we can locate your records.

We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you within that period and explain why.

We may ask you to confirm identifying details of an order before acting on a request, in order to make sure we are not disclosing your data to someone else. We do not use that information for any other purpose.

Authorized agents: you may designate someone to submit a request on your behalf. We will ask for written proof of their authorization.

Opting out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising: email contact@harrisonbrass.com with the subject line "Your Privacy Choices". You can also opt out by enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, or by blocking or deleting non-essential cookies through your browser settings. We do not require an account to submit this request.

Global Privacy Control: we recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing for the browser that sends it.

10. Your privacy rights in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom

We sell and ship to the United States only, but our website can be visited from anywhere and we are established in Belgium. If you are in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK, you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@harrisonbrass.com. We respond within one month, which may be extended by two further months for complex requests, in which case we will tell you within the first month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our lead supervisory authority is the Belgian Data Protection Authority:

Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit
Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, Belgium

12. Security

We use HTTPS across the Site, and checkout runs on Shopify's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. Access to order data is limited to what is necessary to fulfill and support orders.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. International transfer

We are established in Belgium and our service providers are located in various countries, including the United States, Canada, the European Union and Asia. Your personal information will therefore be processed outside the United States, and where you are in the EEA it may be processed outside the EEA. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by our providers, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
